Good Friday to bring ‘almost Antarctic’ winds, thunderstorms
A severe weather warning has been issued for Perth and the South West as hordes of holidaygoers make their way south for the Easter long weekend.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the first significant cold front of the year will bring with it almost ‘Antarctic winds’.
The front, which hit on Thursday evening, is predicted to bring damaging winds, possible thunderstorms and hail.
It will also cause a major drop in temperatures on Good Friday, with the worst hit areas likely to be coastal areas between Busselton and Albany, where temperatures are predicted to reach just 13 degrees.
