Malmsbury assault, headlines, trains, roads and weather
Prison staff have been bashed at Malmsbury Youth Justice centre in the second assault this week.
Two male staff members were allegedly assaulted by two 18-year-old men and a 19-year-old man about 7.30pm yesterday. The weapon of choice was a cricket bat, Nine News reports.
The men received cuts and bruising and were taken to hospital.
The three teens were charged with intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, affray and assault emergency worker, and have been remanded to appear at the Bendigo Magistrates Court today.
On Wednesday, a teenage inmate stabbed a prison officer with an improvised shiv in another flare-up of violence at the troubled youth justice centre.
