He was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remained in a critical condition until Sunday, when he died from his injuries.
On Thursday night, a 32-year-old local man was charged with murder, driver of a vehicle failing to remain at an incident and assist an injured person showing callous disregard and unlicensed driving.
He was due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday.
