Man extradited from New York charged with raping woman at Carlton unit
A Nepalese national has been extradited from the United States and charged with repeatedly raping a woman at a unit in Sydney’s south two years ago.
The man, 35 left the country hours after he allegedly sexually and indecently assaulted the woman, 21, at a Carlton unit while he was on holidays in June 2017.
He was arrested in New York on a federal warrant in January.
Police escorted the man to Los Angeles last week, when he was met by NSW detectives who accompanied him on a flight back to Sydney.
He was charged on Saturday with two counts of sexual intercourse without consent and five acts of indecency.
The man was refused bail and is expected to face Parramatta bail court on Sunday.
