Man in critical condition following stabbing in Sydney’s Inner West
He was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a serious condition.
Inside the home, a 25-year-old man had multiple stab wounds to his upper back and torso.
The second man was taken to RPA in a critical condition.
Neighbours reported hearing a “scuffle” in the house, before one of the injured men ran into the street and called for help.
“I just saw a gentleman run by on the street, with his hands up. It had to be a stab wound, because his hands were up and there was lots of blood,” a witness, David Wasserman told Nine News.
“The guy next door saw one of the guys on the footpath with blood pouring out of his face, and he had obviously been attacked by a knife to his hands and face. He was yelling out ‘help help!'” another neighbour told Nine News.
Nobody has been charged in relation to the stabbings, but police say the incident related to a “personal issue between the parties – all of whom were known to each other”.
“It is a targeted attack. It isn’t a random attack,” said Inspector Michael Egan.
“There were a number of people in the house that we are speaking to at the moment, we’re not sure how many there were. As you can understand, it was a bit of a chaotic scene upon our arrival,” said Inspector Michael Egan.
Investigators want to speak to “at least” two men wearing dark hooded jumpers seen running along Daniels Street towards Buckland Street around 8.30am.
Anyone who may have seen the men running, or who have CCTV vision from the area have been urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
