Snow expected in Dandenongs, alpine regions as temperatures plummet
The Dandenong Ranges could wake up to a rare dusting of snow on Saturday morning, with temperatures set to plunge across the weekend.
We’re in for some “real depth of winter conditions” across the state, according to Bureau of Meteorologist senior forecaster Michael Efron.
Melbourne is expected to reach a maximum of 11 degrees on Saturday, with some showers in the late morning expected to last through the afternoon. However, it’ll also be windy, which will make it feel much colder.
It may even be cold enough for a couple of light snow flurries across the Dandenong Ranges, Mr Efron said, likely between 4am and 9am on Saturday.
