
State road toll hits 218 as four die in separate accidents
Emergency crews were called to Northern Grampians Road just before 5pm. The rider, believed to be a man in his 50s, died at the scene.
In a separate accident in Clyde, in Melbourne’s south-east, a man died when his motorbike collided with a car crossing the South Gippsland Highway.
The car was crossing from Clyde-Five Ways Road about 4pm, police say. The rider, believed to be in his 40s, died at the scene.
The first of Sunday’s deaths was the male passenger of a rolled truck on the Wimmera Highway in Marong, near Bendigo.
The crash was found by a passerby about 3.30am on Sunday morning in the small rural township 17 kilometres west of Bendigo.
