Third arrest over fatal shooting of Sydney criminal lawyer
Three weeks later, the alleged gunman Arthur Kelekolio, 38, was at Sydney Airport about to board a flight to Bali when he was arrested and charged with murder.
In March last year, pregnant Liverpool woman Analosa Ah Keni, 35, was arrested and also charged with murder.
Police say she kept Mr Ledinh under surveillance in the hours before he died, giving a disguise to the alleged gunman and allowing her grey Nissan to be used as a getaway car.
Investigators claim to have intercepted a phone call between Ms Ah Keni and her husband after Mr Kelekolio’s arrest in which she said she had paid $25,000 for a solicitor for the accused gunman, who would “not say anything”.
A bail application at Burwood Local Court last year heard that Ms Ah Keni flew to New Zealand shortly after the shooting, packed up her home and arranged for her belongings to be shipped overseas.
Customs officials in New Zealand allege they found images on her mobile phone of a pistol similar to the gun that killed Mr Ledinh on what appeared to be her kitchen bench.
The 34-year-old man, from Leppington in Sydney’s south-west, was arrested about 7am on Thursday. He remains at Narellan police station where he is assisting police with inquiries.
