Two people have died after a stolen car crossed to the wrong side of a road in Brisbane’s north and slammed head-on into another car overnight.

Just before midnight, the stolen car was being driven north in the southbound lanes of Gympie Arterial Road in Bald Hills, 17 kilometres north of Brisbane, when it smashed into an oncoming car.

One person in each car died at the scene.

Queensland Ambulance Service Kedron Park officer-in-charge Matthew Meister said paramedics also took one patient to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.
