Good morning, Laura Chung here to take you through the morning’s events.

28 schools across have closed over links to positive coronavirus cases, days after term three began, Rachael Dexter reports.

While most primary and secondary students in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire have returned to remote learning, exemptions are in place for Year 11 and 12 students, any Year 10 student doing a VCE subject and specialist schools.

There are also arrangements in place for children of essential workers, and those with special needs to attend classes in person. Despite the low numbers of students physically attending school, as of Tuesday night nearly 30 schools had closed their doors due to coronavirus links.
